Subject: [cpsig] Brookmere Roundhouse
Although I can't help Brent with his turntable plans search, my
attempt unearthed a couple of questions for those familiar with
the pre '47 or pre '49 structure. My confusion comes from photos
and captions in the BRMNA "Canadian Pacific in the Rockies
Vol. 6" on page 12 and the BRMNA "Canadian Pacific's Kettle
Valley Railway" page 28 the former indicates a three stall roundhouse
destoyed March 21, 1947 and rebuilt with four stalls in 1949. The
latter indicates a four stall building was destroyed March 21, 1949
and rebuilt in kind the same year. Both of course from a boiler
explosion on ten wheeler D10g #907. Furhtermore the former book
indicates the rebuilt structure lasted till 1970 the latter says 1972.
BTW, the photos indicate structural differences as well. Any help
in clearing this up woul be appreciated.
