RE: [cpsig] Accurail CP reefer accuracy

Accurail catalog #4822 is an HO model of a CP 40' wood sheathed
reefer. This model is numbered 289032 with build/renew dates of 31/53,
and it's paint is similar to a boxcar red or a boxcar brown. I would
appreciate opinions on the accuracy of the model.
CP had basically two styles of freight reefers. The first batch built from
1916 to 1929 had a fish-belly under frame. The second batch built between
1929 and 1935 had straight centre and side sills.
The model has fish-belly under frame so it should rightfully be lettered for
the earlier series of cars. I haven't ever seen the model so I can't
comment any more than that.
If you're looking for something more accurate then you may be interested in
the Norwest model. The models were based on railway drawings and
measurements from the prototype.
