A Delightful Read My family gave me a delightful book titled "Vistas - Artists
on the Canadian Pacific Railway". It is a book detailing the work done by
artists and photographers in the early years of the CPR, centered in the
mountain divisions. Besides the reproductions of art and photographs it also
provides additional details on railway construction in the mountains and also
the impressions these people had as they traveled, painted and photographed the
scenery they witnessed. Some were commissioned by the CPR but many others were
just provided free passes. Of course it was the CPRs plan to promote tourist
traffic. The 190 page softcover was published by the Glenbow Museum in
2009.Lots of new perspectives.
