You should consider TLT's "warm black" paint. It is "black", and looks
black, but is not so intense that you cannot see the details. I think this
could be a compromise among the 3 flavours most mentioned: black, grimy black
and dark grey. I would go for that flavour on the Canadian that I have on
order (early '70s). Not sure what to do about those guys that can't
compromise. Anyone that is seriously into weathering will change whatever you
produce, regardless.

Hi guys,
Looking at the builders' photos of The Canadian it is clear that the underbody
equipment is black.
However, looking at the photos of the cars newly in service, the underbodies
have already weathered to a dark grey rather than black.<snip>
