I'm curious about equipment assignments. #21 carried all (and only) CPR cars
and ran on CPR trackage, yet as far west as Toronto was a "Pool" train. Other
pool trains would mix equipment. Was it simply more convenient and economical
NOT to have CN equipment, or was there some other reason?
And did this also apply to 100% of head end cars on the train?
