I have a VH T-1-a and a T-1-c. The T-1-a had an open frame motor and never
has been very good mechanically. I have replaced the motor and have a new NWSL
gearbox ready to install. My hope is that it will fix the running problems. I
have a DCC decoder installed in it, a Digitrax DH140.
My T-1-c is a newer model and has a can motor from the factory. It runs well.
I have a Tsunami Medium Steam decoder installed in it and it is a pleasure to
run.
