On a more general note: Did or does CP use cranes which are similar to
the recently released Walther's model?
Both CN and CP used cranes like that. They were built by American
(Walther's model) and Wellman. They were a very versitile crane. I have
photos of one with a pile driver attachment and another set up as a snow
blower. They were super as a snow blower as beside cutting straight ahead
as most blowers do they were able to turn the blower with the cab/machinery
housing into high banks to widen a cut.
FYI. the little Burro Cranes were capable of being used as pile drivers,
escavators etc etc.
