Hi Pierre,
I have had paints for more than ten years that I used with no problem. It
is my understanding is that other than loosing solvents and liquid medium,
Oxidation of pigments and medium is the main cuase of paint deterioration in a
container. If very little paint has been used, the oxidation should be
minimal.
Do a test painting on the same kind of material the cars or loco is made
from. See how well it looks and adheres.
