Thanx, Tom! That removes the mystery from the "extra
players" of the period.
In response to "the other" John H's post, here's a little
info on the "regulars..."
CPR "Cape George" and "Cape Churchill" on the "Redwing"
CPR "Grove" series 10-5's "Birch Grove" and "Spruce Grove"
occasionally supplemented by "Elm Grove"
CPR 2200-series coaches 2286-2275, 2269-2293 regularly
running paired throughout the period with 2231, 2234
and 2262 running when only a single CPR coach was
assigned. John H./Fred S. -- Is this perhaps the
duty paid issue or just firm car assignments??
B&M "Onward" was occasionally supplemented by "Progress" and
B&M parlor "Birch"
A key element to this info is that the CPR was more regularly
recording consists by number/name/car type on northbound Nos. 5
and 325 as they entered CPR iron at Wells River. As a general
rule the B&M only recorded the number of cars in either direction.
That suggests the consist info was coming from the train crews
on the Wells River train register forms. However, AFAIK the operators
at Wells River worked BOTH roads which I think may account for
some anomalies in the info.

Subject: [PCL] LOOKING FOR "REDWING" PULLMAN INFO
I'm trying to organize some B&M/CPR "Redwing" and "Alouette"
passenger data found in handwritten operating paperwork from
Wells River, VT in the late spring and early summer of 1956.
There's occasional reference to some cars I can't identify
due to handwriting quality. One is STAR SUMMIT which appears
to be a 14sec Pullman. The names of 2-3 other cars are nearly
indecipherable -- something like "LAKE LABERGE"; and "CRAMPTON
GAP" or "CRAMELON GAP". Nothing close appears in the B&M, CPR,
NYC or Pennsy listings in my limited selection of ORPTE's from
1947 thorugh 1946. My only Wayner list is the 1961 volume.
Pardon the cross-posts, but can anybody shed any light on these
cars which only appear once or twice in this time period.
Normally assigned cars were CPR "GROVE" cars, typically "SPRUCE
GROVE", "BIRCH GROVE", and occasionally "ELM GROVE". There is
also one clear record of a CPR 8-1-2 ("ROSE TOWN") included in the
"REDWING" consist.
Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanx!
