Canadian railway history from the desk of a CP Rail operator. I have for sale
a limited number of packages full of 80+ CP Rail paper items that will be of
interest to CP enthusiasts and modellers, and collectors of paper items.
Each package represents 24 hours of CP Rail trains betwen Ignace and Kenora
on the Ignace Sub, plus Ignace to Thunder Bay on the Kaministiquia Sub in
October and November 1981.
Daily train volumes vary somewhat, so the number of items in each package are
subject to a bit of variation. Each package contains:
20-25 CLEARANCES as given to each train, listing train orders.
30-50 TRAIN ORDERS including orders to individual trains and annulling orders
to the operator.
20-25 SYMBOL SHEETS containing complete information for each train - train
number, locomotives, tonnage, loads/empties, van and radio numbers, crew
members and time called.
4 TRAIN LINE-UPS issued twice per day on each subdivision, showing all trains
and times.
2 CREW CALL SHEETS including crew, locomotives, times for each train.
1 OPERATOR'S TRAINSHEET including all train information for eastward and
westward trains, including VIA's Canadian.
up to 5 MESSAGES regarding cars to be lifted/setout or conditions en route.
As these packages are 30 years old, they represent a different era in which
3000 hp freight units, four-man crews, vans, and paper trains, wayfreights
and drags of 120+ empty 40-foot grain boxcars heading west from the Lakehead.
VIA's Canadian is pulled by F-units, E-units and RS-10's with up to 15 cars
in tow.
Each package was filed with date noted on the last item, then stored until
today. All items are in excellent original condition for their age, and each
is like a time capsule. History is revealed as each page peels back layers
of time, revealing hundreds of details of how the line was operated thirty
years ago.
Each package includes well-packaged free shipping anywhere in Canada for $25.
Please email me off-list with any questions at:

Orders from US also welcome. Actual postage will apply.
This is the first time these packages have been offered for sale, and
they'll be of great interest to anyone studying the CP Rail of 30 years ago,
as well as collectors of now-scarce paper items. That's about a quarter for
each item in each package. Number of packages is limited.
