Am in the process of compiling the history of Cartier Ontario. Looking for
anything about Cartier Ontario, the CPR's role in it's establishment, the
people who worked and lived here. Cartier was once known as Archer, possibly
after Archer Baker. I know the current Station was built in 1911, but also know
there was one before. Unclear about exactly when or where that was. Have a few
maps, but could always use more. Also would love early employee lists and any
photos of trains or the town site or train yards and shops. Also anything on
the Railroad YMCA built circa 1913. Would love photos of any trains (or the
types of trains) which might have passed though Cartier from 1885 to date. Also
interested in some of the stops up and down the line, Benny, Stralak, Flourite,
Bahsen etc. Any info or directions to where I might find a track that leads to
where I need to go, would be much appreciated. Thank You to all who may be able
to assist this endeavour.
