Andrew, Extra 2200 South issue #83 (part 3 of the CPR roster)
indicates 9003 & 9004 were EMC/StL products built 6/30. I
believe only 9006 was converted to diesel. If you can recall
when the 'Branchline' article appeared, the year is close enough,
I'd appreciate the info. 'CP Tracks' carried an article in
Vol. 5 - 2 but I don't have that issue. Photos of 9004 can be
found at

I'm also interested in any technical details regarding 9004, an
Electro-Motive/St. Louis Car product- where to look?
I think you will find that 9004 was made by the Ottawa Car Co.
and not by St. Louis Car, though the design was by the Electro-Motive
Corp.
There was an article in Branchline about this series of gas-electric
(later converted to diesel) cars, but I do not have the issue number
close at hand.
