Forwarding on the latest update from Ann Kitchen that I got today with a
reminder to please stay alert and safe when on your walks and about town. Keep

report anything out of the ordinary or suspicious.
The latest incident is a little closer to home than the others - Goodwill at
Brodie/Slaughter. Please stay clear of the area and note that their may be road
closures as law enforcement works.

Update on Explosions in Austin
Dear Neighbors,
As we all continue to cope with the uncertainty and fears raised by recent
events - I will continue to send out the latest information as we receive
updates from law enforcement and our City Manager.
This morning the City Council was given a briefing from Austin Police
Department Interim Chief Brian Manley about the recent explosions and the
efforts underway to stop these attacks and keep our community safe.

The Chief emphasized that safety is our city’s top priority and that our
police department has the full assistance of the FBI and other federal
agencies. As a Council, we let him know that we stand ready to provide
whatever resources APD needs to apprehend the persons responsible for these
bombings.
The Chief urged us all to help law enforcement and our community by taking
the following steps:
1) Please pay close attention to any suspicious device whether it be a
package, a bag, a backpack or anything that looks out of place, DO NOT
approach it and call 9-1-1 immediately. Also remember DO NOT move, touch or
open unexpected/suspicious packages.
2) If you see something suspicious please call 911.
3) Those wanting to submit tips should call the local Crime Stoppers tip line
at 512-472-TIPS (8477) or the state Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-800-252-TIPS
(8477).
