Need new recruits!!
Your friendly neighborhood association needs new recruits to help organize
meetings, fun activities like the Spring Fling and Summer Picnic, and to help
get newsletters to your doorstep throughout the year. We have the following
vacancies opening up at the end of the year - President and Vice President. Our
most pressing need is for a Newsletter Editor ASAP. Please contact Paco with
questions and/or interest.
Crownspoint Traffic
We have been working closely with the Austin Transportation Department to
address speeding cars on Crownspoint during peak traffic times and may finally
be arriving at a solution. Crownspoint is part of the City of Austin’s Master
Bicycle Plan thanks to some footwork set in motion by our neighbors years ago,
so they are currently working on a design to stripe Crownspoint between
Manchaca & Curlew to include bike lanes. Narrowing streets with bike lanes and
visual striping has proven to slow traffic down in other parts of town and
would have the added benefit of creating a safe lane for bike and pedestrian
traffic. We’ll be checking in with residents of Crownspoint directly in the
coming weeks to gather input and hope to schedule a community meeting with the
transportation department towards the end of the summer. Please stay tuned to
our neighborhood email list for more info in the meantime.
City of Austin Watering Schedule
It is going to be a hot and dry summer! Please remember that the City of Austin
still has water restrictions in place. For residential properties this means
that you may water with automatic sprinklers once a week and with hose-end
sprinklers twice a week according to the schedule below. Tree bubblers, hand
watering, and drip irrigation are allowed any day/any time. Home car washes are
allowed with buckets or auto-shut off hoses.

Summer break in full swing!
Summer means more kids on bikes, scooters, and playing in driveways so a
reminder to please slow down as you are driving around and through the
neighborhood. Also, be sure to report speeders and unsafe drivers to 311.
