NCCC President's Message June 2020
June is here and at least some parts of our world are starting to re-open and
return to a new normal. For some it’s still too early; for others, too late. No
matter what your situation is, I hope you are all staying safe.
Most all NCCC competitive events and social events have been cancelled through
July. I really miss getting together with my extended NCCC family, whether it
be for a competition event or a club picnic. I have managed to find time to
clean my garage and detail my Corvette. I am slowly knocking a few items off my
to-do list but I don’t think there is any chance of running out of things to do.
As I write this, the NCCC Convention is still on as planned. Our hosts from the
Indiana Region as well as Jim Walton, the NCCC Convention steering committee
chair, are in constant communications. They are looking closely at all the
details to insure that the convention can be hosted with safety for all. If
you’re planning to attend the convention, check the NCCC web site, as well as
the NCCC Facebook page for any updates. We will do our best to keep you updated.
The National Corvette Museum has been closed to the public, but is scheduled to
re-open June 8th. The Michelin NCM Bash was postponed and then changed to
completely virtual Bash. I’ve spent the last couple days glued to my computer
screen and I hope you had a chance to see it also. The Museum staff did a
fantastic job with presentations covering Corvette history, the Bowling Green
assembly plant, the NCM fashion show, new displays at the Museum, etc, etc. The
entire presentation was very professionally done. Congratulations to all
involved for making the best of a very difficult time.
I’ll keep my post short this month. Stay safe and let’s all look forward to a
time when we can get together again and enjoy our Corvettes.
