Subject: Corvette Telecom
Hello,I’ve been thinking about you all during our time of isolation. Hope you
and your families are well. What a worrisome time we live in.
Some may have already seen the message below via the NCM Facebook page. If
not, I wanted to share. Please share with your club members and other corvette
enthusiasts. I’m certain you are doing your part to stay engaged with members
and that is wonderful.
There’s people out there who may appreciate an hour telecom. Sean was our first
guest speaker and all enjoyed hearing from him. He hit it out of the park!
Next Thursday April 9th, Kai will be our guest speaker. Harlan and others are
in the pipeline also. I really appreciate the guest speakers that take time out
of their day to give corvette enthusiasts a welcome break from the pandemic.
Thank you so much.
I hope you have time to call in. Be great to hear your voices.
Please stay safe during this uncertain time.
Very Best, Leslie
—————————————Hello Corvette Enthusiasts!
I hope all are doing well. If you need an hour break from isolation, please
join me on a bi-weekly telecom.
I started this initially for the West Coast Corvette Clubs. Our first VIP
speaker was Dr. Sean Preston, NCM President and CEO. I’m now thinking why limit
this to the west coast and open this to any corvette club and enthusiasts.
I host this telecom every other week. I have the dates listed further down.
Please add to your calendars. A calendar notice won’t be provided.
This is a simple call in. Not zoom, WebEx. No charts or visuals. To me it’s
like the old days ... sitting around the radio. Feeling more nostalgic as time
goes on during our pandemic. I think you can relate.
Our next telecom is scheduled for:
Thursday April 9th at 12pm pacific time
VIP guest speaker is Kai Spande, Corvette Assembly Plant Manager!
I have the following speakers lined up for future telecom dates.
Harlan Charles, Chevrolet Corvette & Camaro Product Manager
Doug Fehan, Corvette Racing Program Manager
Ray Battaglini, Founder, First President and Chairman of the National Corvette
Museum (he has stories you have not heard. How the museum was established and
the challenges and triumphs etc. Very enlightening!)
Please invite all club members and enthusiasts you know. They do not need to be
a NCM member. More the better to share. Even if they are interested in the
museum or not, love the C8 or prefer front engine corvettes, Corvette Racing
fans or not. This telecom is to give those interested an hour break during our
coronavirus isolation. It’s good to socialize as much as we can! 😊
If we need to go beyond May 21st, I can certainly schedule more. If isolation
ends prior, I can cancel the telecom.
Here’s the call in information -
Date: Thursday April 9th, April 23rd, May 7th and May 21stTime: 12pm to 1pm
pacific time
Call in number: 425-436-6383
Access code: 777462#
Dick Bottis, Past President of Corvettes of So Cal and present Treasurer, has
offered to help me during the telecom by providing his cell number for call in
questions. I will provide his number at the beginning of the April 9th call.
Participants can text him with a question or comment to be read during the hour.
Prior to the meeting I welcome questions from NCM Ambassadors and club leaders.
I will send questions collected to the guest speaker prior to the telecom. I
think that worked well.
I do have to warn from freeconferencecall.com (service provider I use) that the
system may overload and callers may get the busy signal or dropped calls. Just
try again. Millions and millions of people are making calls during this
pandemic.
Please take care, be safe and if anyone needs to reach out for help or want to
chat between telecoms, let me know.
So remember ... same day, same time and same call in info ... every two weeks.
Thanks! Leslie
