*I feel impelled to introduce the attached 3-minute plus audio feature about
me by stating for the record that I have been a licensed ham operator since
I was 14 back in the mid-60s. I've been an information junkie for decades,
culminating in a podcast known as the RAIN Report since 1990, and available

mobile friendly website. One of my two mentors going back to the early 80's
was Bill Pasternak/WA6ITF, cofounder of the Amateur Radio Newsline until
2015. ARnewsline.org continues on with a weekly ham radio newscast today
under the tutelage of Caryn Murray/KD2GUT. This past week I was contacted by
Paul Braun/WD9GCO, a reporter for Newsline to help promote a project I am
embarking on. Even if you aren't into Amateur Radio (hamming), you may find
this quasi interesting.*
