Dear "dancers" all,
Having received my training from Centro Bert Hellinger Argentina the cradle
of El Tango, Tiiu Bolzmann the director of the center and an accomplished
tango dancer included tango in our training. At the time, I did not
appreciate or understand the value of this aspect of our training. I love to
dance and I have always wanted to learn the tango so I had a great time.
(one of these days I will actually take formal classes) Many of my
classmates groused and complained that they did not spend good money to
spend a large chunk of one training module dancing. It is only now as I
facilitate Constellations that I have gained the perspective to fully
appreciate the value of this segment of my training. As I observed the
fantastic group of instructors at the most recent Intensive at Kloster
Bernreid I watched as they each, in their own very personal style, glided
(danced) effortlessly in the work. A spectacular learning!
This work is so much about flowing, leading, flowing and leading. Exactly
what one does when dancing. And then there are times when you and your
chosen partner a slightly out of step. As a dancer and usually the lead, I
stop momentarily and seek to find their rhythm such that the experience is
grand for both. Equally there are times in a Constellation that I am
facilitating and yet sense I am not flowing. I hear Gunthar Weber's wise
words, "When you are struggling, you are not on the right course!" and I
stop, usually take a brief step out of the field, breathe deeply and thus
regain the rhythm and dance in and with the Field. And so healing work gets
done.
Thanks Chris for sharing that excellent description. It is a great reminder
for me.
