I tried out three replacements for Firefox, as FF 52 has reached EOL and
new versions of FF don't work with conkeror (1.0.4 Debian).
This is the result:
1. I didn't find any problem so far with Waterfox. (Compared with the
other two options: I can install extensions and save html pages and
images.) I'm going to stay with Waterfox for the time being and hope they
don't move to FF 56.
2. I can install extensions with Basilisk. Compared with Pale Moon there
is just *one* problem with Basilisk: I cannot save html pages and images.
(Zip, pdf files etc. are ok.) If I try to save a html page it rises the
following error:

Is this something which could be corrected in the code of conkeror?
3. There are two problems with Pale Moon: I cannot save html pages and
images. (As with Basilisk.) Additionally I cannot install extensions. (I
can use extensions already installed.) Starting conkeror with Pale Moon
and trying to install an extension I get the error messages reported in
https://www.freelists.org/post/conkeror/Firefox-replacement-Pale-Moon . I
don't get these messages with Basilisk or Waterfox. Do those error
messages point to a way to improve the code of conkeror?
