Zero Fare for Better Air is underway
During the month of August, RTD will offer zero fares across its system as part
of the Zero Fare for Better Air initiative. This collaborative, statewide
initiative, made possible by Colorado Senate Bill 22-180, in partnership with
the Colorado Energy Office, is designed to reduce ground-level ozone by
increasing use of public transit. Current RTD customers will also benefit as
they will not have to use or purchase fare products from Aug. 1 to 31, during
Colorado’s high ozone season. |

During the month of August, community coffee chats involving RTD staff and
Transit Police team members are planned at six RTD stations, enabling the
public to ask questions about service, safety and other topics of interest.

MyRide transitioning to account-based ticketing system
RTD is transitioning to a new account-based fare payment system that provides
customers with more convenience and flexibility than ever before. Launching
Sept. 1, MyRide includes a variety of new features including an updated mobile
app, a new MyRide card, new validators on buses and rail platforms, improved
security, and introduces fare capping to ensure customers never pay more than
they should. Current MyRide customers can begin the process of converting their
accounts to the new account-based ticketing system by clicking the link on the
right. |

August's service change is Aug. 21
The final service change of 2022 will go into effect Aug. 21, which will
provide schedule adjustments to a number of bus routes.

August’s Operator of the Month is East Metro operator Warren Debey! Warren was
selected for helping an elderly customer who did not speak English and went out
of their way to ensure the customer got to their destination safely.

elements
Gracing the pathway that leads from the RTD N Line commuter rail platform at
Eastlake•124th Station to the adjacent Park-n-Ride lot are two stunning steel
sculptures called the “Muses of Water and Earth.”

Did you know?
RTD offers service to a number of parks, bike trails and hikes throughout the
Denver metro area. Take advantage of the Zero Fare for Better Air initiative
and use RTD to get outdoors! Notable locations include Valmont City Park via
the Route 208, Greenwood Village Mountain Bike Trail via the H and R lines, and
City Park via the routes 15 and 20. Use Trip Planner to find the best way to
take RTD to the outdoors. |

Tip of the month
While the hottest days of summer are here, it is never too early to start
preparing for the upcoming winter season. Start preparing by checking tire
tread, inspecting batteries, change the oil, inspect brakes and brake pads, and
purchasing or resupplying an emergency kit. If driving a two-wheel drive
vehicle, consider purchasing a new set of winter/snow tires to increase
traction in slick conditions.
