Spinrite is an exceptional product, I've used that numerous times here. But
if you want a freebie, try using the UBCD4Win. It's got several different
recovery programs built in. The 'Testdisk' program is excellent. I've used
that to find and recover missing partitions several times. But if I was
spending $$, Spinrite is where I'd be heading.

Excellent CD to have around. One of those "don't leave home without it"
disks!!:)))

Subject: [CTS] help external drive!!

Hi,

My Iomega 500Gb external USB is on the blink/expired...
I've removed it from the box & hooked it up directly to the IDE lead &
it shows up in XP Win Explorer but I can't access it.
Have tried Ranish on it & it shows it as being formatted as FAT16 &
having no data.
Anybody know any useful software that I might try to get my data off it...
It's a Seagate make of HD.
Thanks in advance...
Mark
