Hmmm ok, We’re using Outlook not OE..but I’ll see if that setting is available in Outlook 2007. Seems odd he’d have to make that setting but I wouldn’t? OTOH, it IS windows, huh??:))) Thanks again Bruce From: computertalkshop-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:computertalkshop-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Branx86 Gmail Sent: Wednesday, September 29, 2010 3:33 PM To: computertalkshop@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Cc: <computertalkshop@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [CTS] Re: can't send file attachment I almost forgot try this 1. Run Outlook Express. 2. Navigate to Tools -> Accounts to open theInternet Accounts window. 3. Go to the Main tab, and select the mail account that you use. 4. Click on Properties. 5. A dialog opens up, containing various options for configuring the mail account properties. Go to theAdvanced tab in this dialog. 6. Under the Sending heading, select the option forBreak apart messages larger than, and use the arrow to set a suitable upper limit. 7. Click on Apply. 8. Click on OK. 9. Exit the Internet Accounts window by clicking onClose. After this, Outlook Express will break up all attachments that are larger than 20MB (if that is the limit you set) and send the mail in parts. The recipient will receive the email in parts and on downloading the parts; they will automatically combine to become a single file again. Hotmail has a 5 or 10 Meg limit, last I can remember, so we didn’t try that route. I should mention, he’s also got some issue with something making his mouse stall every now and then? But I don’t see the connection there between the two issues. Ken , who is on my network thru an access point can send small files, but nothing large. I can send him a 10 Meg MP4 file. But he can’t forward the same email back to me? Any ideas whey 1 PC on a network can send larger files than other PCs on the same network? Both running Windows 7. I had him turn off the windows firewall completely too. I even hooked his tower up directly to my main hub. Totally bypassing the access point. I’m at a loss.
