[CTS] Win95 dial-up annoyance

I have a strange "problem" with the IE dialer in Win95:
it used to be that I could check "Save Password" and
"Dial automatically" the first time I used it since booting,
and it would dial automatically. Now (after I re-formatted
and reinstalled Win), those check boxes are always
unchecked and disabled. It's not that big of a deal, it's
just annoying to have to type my password every time
that I connect.
Any ideas?
