>Thanks so much for your help! I replaced Norton with AVG, and that
reduced the boot time from 14 to 6 minutes. That was still way too long,
so I went through the processes running at startup using msconfig and
Admin Tools -> Services. Turning them off one at a time, I was able to
trace the problem to two Toshiba utilities. In case anyone else is
having this issue, they are Tmesrv3 (manages docking stations) and
Swupdtmr (checks for software updates). Now my boot time is under a
minute, and I'm a happy camper. Thanks again!<
