torx is what you have to take your taillights off on your car with - six
pointed star - not hex bit but more spread out. Same type bit that Compaq uses
on their gear minus the straight slot combined with it.

Huh? Dunno what a torx bit is. Just ordered one off a store found on google
for about $20. No pick, but should be the part.

you have a torx bit handy? I suppose you stripped the phillips star out?
Use a #6 or 8 whichever fits best - hold the drive and bracket as firm as
possible in an upward position (use a second person with strong hands rather
than a vise if possible) and put downward pressure while slowly backing the
screw out. Once it's out toss the screw - better to be one short than put that
one back.

Other than that you'll need to contact Toshiba about a bracket - not cheap.

I cannot get a stripped screw out of the hard drive and it would be
easier to buy a new bracket.

Where can I buy one? Toshiba Sattilite. 2715XDVD/6.0
      PS271U-6K9J0K

      Thanks,
      Eric
