Try the test disk program from UBCD4 win disk. There's a few others I've used also, but they're on another disconnected drive at the moment.Heck, send me the drive I'd be more than happy to take a stab at recovering it for you? No charge, I just do it to keep my skills up? I'm no master data recovery specialist, but I've done a few of these and been pretty successful at it? I've only run across 1 drive that I couldn't get useable data from? Send me an email off list if you want. I had the same problem with a 250 Silver model Iomega. All of a sudden it did have any date on it. (3000) mp3 songs. Because it was out of warranty they said I would have to a 3rd party company to try and retreive what they could. I sent the drive into the 3rd party company to see what they could do for me. They wanted $1600.00 to try and restore what they could. I told them to keep the drive because they wanted me to pay shipping cost of $35.00 to get back a dead drive. I still own (5) Silver (250) gig drives. I will be selling them on E-Bay soon. I am switching over to Western Digital (125) pocket drives. Nothing higher than (125) gig drives. I will never buy another Iomega product. I have been using these (pocket drives) from Western Digital. I have (7) now and I back the same info to another drive. I have two drives with the same info. It is costly but it is worth it in my computing business. "Fool me Once" I have been fooled. "Fool me Twice" I am the Fool. never again. Hi, My Iomega 500Gb external USB is on the blink/expired... I've removed it from the box & hooked it up directly to the IDE lead & it shows up in XP Win Explorer but I can't access it. Have tried Ranish on it & it shows it as being formatted as FAT16 & having no data. Anybody know any useful software that I might try to get my data off it... It's a Seagate make of HD. Thanks in advance...
