Good morning, Gardeners!
We know you're anxious to get gardening and wonder when it will be tilled.
It's a very scientific process- the moisture level of the soil several
inches down has to be just right or else the soil will get hard and clumpy.
Once it's tilled, we'll need a few volunteers to help set up the watering
system and to mark out the plots. Chances are good that tilling will be
this week, no guarantees, fingers crossed!
The plant and seed swap was fun with perfect weather for the occasion and
delicious blueberry cake. There are lots of seeds left- both full packets
generously donated by High Mowing Seeds as well as smaller packets prepared
by gardeners both from their plants and their own seed packets. Please help
yourself to some seeds- try something new and unexpected! They are in the
garden shed, neatly arranged on a large black tray. The remaining plants
are eager to be adopted- you can find assorted hot peppers and other
goodies in the white garden box in Dan's garden. Many thanks to Erica for
pulling this event off and to those who shared seeds and plants.
Dan said he will leave fence painting supplies in the shed so you can paint
any time. The only request is that painters wash their brushes! Beth spent
a bunch of time painting yesterday and said it is much easier with 2 people.
Kudos to the folks who showed up throughout the day to improve the
accessibility of the raised bed area! Lots was accomplished and there is
still plenty to do if you missed out on the action.
