Angular Material can make a nice user interface. At work, I work a few on
an application with angular material and flex-layout.
I looked at your branch and my first thought is that we're going to have to
find the right theme or customize one.

As of today I've only migrated the navigation bar over just to see how
difficult it would be. I'm tinkering while not working on more difficult
backend tasks (like the plugin integration work) in the hopes that we can
come up with a better next-generation user interface for managing a library.
