Their families fled Syria. They were born on foreign soil. What will happen
next? Europe – TIME: Some 14,000 Syrian refugees in Greece have been waiting
for more than a year to be relocated to other parts of Europe. Since September,
TIME has been charting the path of three of those Syrian families seeking
sanctuary in Europe as part of the yearlong Finding Home project, starting with
the birth of their children in the bleak refugee camps of northern Greece
(watch the trailer here). The families have since been moved to hotels and
apartments, but they are still waiting for the next chapter of their lives to
begin. Here, TIME provides a multimedia short update on the three Finding Home
babies and their families. Read and watch here 'We are all migrants': Posters
highlight human stories
Motifs of birds in flight and barbed wire appear in new Dublin exhibition The
Irish Times: There are more than 250 million international migrants in the
world now, up from less than 200 million in 2005. Most are economic migrants,
but a growing number are refugees. Some move by choice, some from fear. The US
is the most popular destination, with 46.6 million migrants now living there,
writes Rose Costello. In an effort to draw attention to the many human stories
behind these migration figures, Mexican human rights organisation Escucha mi
Voz (Hear my Voice) held an international poster contest on the theme “We are
all Migrants/Todos somos Migrantes”. Read more | TOGETHER is a global

“Migration is often misperceived as the failure to adapt to a changing
environment. It is, however, one of the main coping and survival mechanisms
that is available to those affected by environmental degradation and climate
change. ” – Sylvia Lopez-Ekra, IOM Ghana Chief of Mission. More here. |
