 New from the Americas Program
POLICY ANALYST
INTERNSHIP
MEXICO
CITY

SUMMER & FALL

What does the internship
entail?

This is an unpaid
internship, but offers room and board in Mexico City and a fantastic

movements and reforms in U.S. foreign policy in the Americas. Interns will
learn and employ research, policy analysis, journalism, electronic
publishing and distribution skills. The 2012 internship periods will be
especially important and interesting. The summer and fall interns
will help cover and analyze the Mexican presidential election, the winning
administration’s transition into power and the growing hemispheric
debate on the drug war.Who will I be working
with?
The selected interns will
be working under the direct supervision of the Director of the Americas
Program, Laura Carlsen. As a policy analyst Laura has been featured on
national and international media outlets such as MSNBC, Al-Jazeera English,
the Huffington Post and CNN, among others. She has published hundreds
of articles and chapters on social, economic and political issues in
Mexico, and co-authored Confronting Globalization: Economic integration
and popular resistance in Mexico, among other books. Laura is a former
Fulbright scholar and award-winning journalist, and has also worked as an
international consultant on immigration and women rights.
Who are we looking for?
Reliable, hard-working
people with an interest in American hemispheric politics.
