Here's the Mission, Vision and Purpose statements that the emerging
"Collaborative Professionals of Washington State" organization adopted at the
Steering Committee's Nov 19 2006 meeting. I encourage my collaborative family
law colleagues to begin expanding the horizon of collaborative practice so we
are inclusive of the promise of all practice areas.
COLLABORATIVE PROFESSIONALS OF WASHINGTON STATE
Vision: Transform(ing) how conflict is resolved statewide through
Collaborative Practice.
Mission: To make collaborative practice the first choice in dispute resolution
by promoting and expanding collaborative practice statewide, making
collaborative practice known to the public, and encouraging and fostering
collaborative practice excellence.
Purpose:
a.. To serve as a statewide point of contact on collaborative practice to
individual practitioners, practice groups, local associations and the public;
b.. To serve as a statewide point of contact on collaborative practice to the
legislature and court system;
c.. To set statewide standards for membership eligibility in line with IACP;
d.. To set statewide standards for collaborative practice continuing
education;
e.. To recommend best practices (protocols);
f.. To encourage collaborative practice professionalism and excellence;
g.. To provide statewide collaborative practice training (in line with IACP);
h.. To host website including membership directory and resources for public
and members;
i.. To design and deliver statewide outreach, including public education and
marketing of collaborative practice.
