Just have to brag a bit!! MCPC held its First Annual Collaborative
Practice Symposium at Turf Valley Resort in Ellicott City, Maryland.
Our own Sue Brunsting spoke in the morning session on the subject of
"Collaborative Advocacy, How is it Different and Why is the Distinction
So Important?" and Gabriella Salvatore from the Harvard Negotiation
Project spoke in the afternoon session on "Difficult Conversations."
The event was a full house (approximately 100 attendees - attorneys,
mental health and financial) and a wonderful time was had by all!!
Lunchtime was a 90 minute networking session in which attendees were
encouraged to swap business cards and mingle. This was the first time
in Maryland that such an event had been held. We had attendees not only
from Maryland, but from Virginia and DC!! We are so excited to plan
next year!!!! Gratitude goes out not only to our distinguished
speakers, but to our Committee, Jolie Weinberg, Ali Doyle, Suzy
Eckstein, Karen Robbins, and Meg Attanasio. Not to mention our
distinguished Judge guests, The Honorable Ann Sundt, and The Honorable
Diane Leasure. Judge Sundt took a 3 day interdisciplinary training in
last month!!
