Some, but not all of you, are on the Renaissance Lawyer mailing list and know
about some of the activities that are brewing. We have launched as a membership
organization and we are creating a historic event--the first conference of
founding members of the Renaissance Lawyer Society. We intend to be the hub of
the movement to transform the practice of law. Collaborative Law is one
approach to this transformation. On January 19, we are gathering lawyers from
all over North America to take this to the next level.
Given who the members of this group have shown themselves to be, I don't want
to wait until the regular membership drive and conferences to make sure you
know about this. The founding members are pioneers in this movement--as you all
are. Your ideas, thoughts, and energy are welcome.
The message below contains links and details. If you haven't been to the web
site lately, it has new information about all sorts of things. The invitation
originally went out to a mailing list of several hundred in early December and
references to it were made some time before. But don't worry: everyone waited
until after the holidays to read it and start acting on it so you aren't really
behind.
We are also launching a new CLE program based on Steven Keeva's book on the
19th. Read below for links to more info.
We maintain a monthly calendar of events and publish an on-line newsletter with
news, articles, and information about the movement to create a legal system
that works for everyone. Please email me if you wish to subscribe to these
periodicals.
