I am reluctant to post this, but too curious not to.
Another CFL lawyer in Ontario and I may have the dubious honour of having the
longest running family CP file.
The couple signed the collaborative participation agreement in April 2003 and
executed the agreement this month, March 2008. Almost 5 full years.
I am curious to know if this is the longest duration for a CP file.
Not that we are proud of the length - it really shoots a hole in the argument
that CP is more expedient than court. However, we are proud that we actually
brought it to a successful end.
The lesson I learned out of it all was that you have to let go of your
expectations and work with the client's. (my expectations being a timely
resolution) I'm hearing the mantra "client focused" in my mind more than ever.
