Interesting to hear your experience, Randolph. Yes, these were my five most
expensive for the year. That means that the others were more in range of what
you have experienced.
It sounds like you are using full interdisciplinary Teams, which is my
preference as well. In fact I will not do a Collaborative Case without a Coach
(neutral facilitator depending where you are) and having a Financial Neutral
simply makes sense to clients.

Subject: Re: [CollabLaw] The Cost of Collaboration
Thanks for sharing that information!
All of the figures you list would be on the upper end of the range that I end
up charging people for a collaborative divorce. I charge hourly at $325 in an
area where the top end senior family litigators charge $500-600 hour, and
newbies out of school charge $150-200.
I tell clients in my first meeting that most clients will pay me between
$5-10k, that some outliers will pay double and some half that. I mediate cases
where people have paid $50-$100k, often 2x-3x their annual income in attorney
fees with some frequency, usually due to custody, child support, and alimony
and recurring modifications and contempt hearings on those issues.
I had one case that was probably the most complex and difficult case I've had
in 11 years of collab cases and I think that total was $27k and some change
over 18 mos. It would have been less if clients had been willing to use
coaches, a child specialist, and a financial. A lot of my time was spent
coaching.
In my experience in litigating, mediating, and collaborating, collaborative is
by far the most efficient, and it's not really close.

That is definitely the case for me. I have no receivables more than 30 days on
any of my Collaborative matters. I do in other processes, especially my only
litigated matter which is huge.

I am back from the Forum and filling out my professional liability application.
In it I am asked my five largest accounts which, for me, are all
Collaborative. For 2019 here is my list, with client name taken out:
$21.383.25 RESOLUTION
$14,1789.20 RESOLUTION
$13,274.10 IN PROCESS
$13,226.16 IN PROCESS
$13,006.40 RESOLUTION
I am seeing more efficiency, more delegation, and less in attorney’s fees in my
Collaborative work. Anyone else?
