The Center for Principled Family Advocacy in Cleveland Ohio established a Peer
Committee in 2010 with a goal of helping members resolve issues that arise
mid-process.
The goal of this Peer Committee is to help rescue processes that are in danger
of failing because of the real or perceived transgressions of a member or
members engaged in a process.
By having this tool available we can preserve the process, and prevent it from
failing and in addition preserve or repair the professional relationship of the
members.
In extreme cases the Peer Committee can refer serious acts contrary to the
mission of the Center for Principled Family Advocacy to the organization for
further action which could include expulsion from he group.

Do any groups have an established coaching process to help members who aren’t
acting consistently with your collaborative norms? (This coaching would be
for the collaborative professionals about their conduct generally, not for
parties in actual cases.) Conceivably, there might be a practice group
committee to whom concerns or complaints might be addressed. Such a
committee might approach the professional in question to discuss the concerns
and try to work out ways for the person to conform to the norms in the
future. Some collaborative professionals de-brief during and after a case
and this presumably helps in some situations but obviously there are
situations where this doesn’t happen or isn’t effective. So I wonder if any
groups have some additional process for dealing with these problems.
