All our collective wisdom to envision ways to serve clients of limited
financial resources will produce fantastic results. I look forward to
dialoging with any who are interested in this subject. I applaud you on
getting ahead of the game.
Yesterday I met with Texas Wesleyan Law School's Director of the Law Clinic
and the Director of the Externship Program to discuss how law students could
be integrated into such a program. Today I had lunch with a colleague who
wants to see a way child protective services dispute resolution programs can
expand using Collaborative Practice. There is momentum for these types of
efforts. The "let's wait and see if this collaborative thing flies" days
are becoming past history.

This looks awesome, I just briefly scanned some of the materials. I am
working with Stu and Deb Clemmenson here in Minneapolis on CLI Minnesota's
newly formed pro-bono committee. We have had some initial conversations
with a local volunteer lawyer organization and are trying to determine how
best to screen and refer clients. We're in the process also of forming two
pro-bono teams to take initial referrals. We'll take a close look at these
materials and then probably get in touch with lots of questions. We are very
excited about the prospects of doing an organized pro-bono program here, and
obviously you have seen the value also. Congratulations!!

Some time ago I believe Stu Webb inquired about Collaborative Practice pro
bono projects. At the time such a project was in the development stage in
Dallas. It has now been launched in the Dallas County Family District
Courts and has had two cases assigned to it by two of the six
courts. Earlier such a program was initiated in the civil district courtsand
in Dallas County by the Dallas Bar Association Collaborative Law Section
is being considered by the IACP as a pilot project for the diversificationdrafted
of Collaborative Practice.
The guidelines for the Dallas Alliance of Collaborative Professionals'
(Texas' first practice group) Collaborative Family Law Pro Bono Service
Project are now available on the Alliance website at
www.dallascollaborativelaw.com . In a box on the home page is an
announcement about the project. From it can be linked forms we have
for use in the project which are located via the Resource/Library/ ProBono
page by link to the DACP Collaborative Family Law Pro Bono ServiceProject.
You will note this sentence in the announcement: "Permission is grantedfor
groups to use the forms and adapt them as needed in initiatingcourt-annexed
Collaborative Practice pro bono programs." We are sincere in the hopesthat
other groups in the international collaborative community will replicateour
work and improve upon it, so that we truly can indeed offer a service thattime
"transforms the way conflict is resolved worldwide."
By the way, we are very proud of the content of our website and when you
visit to learn about the pro bono project, we invite you to spend some
reviewing it. It may be one you want to give to prospective collaborativereading
clients, since it explains Collaborative Law well. They might like
