This nails it down rather nicely. I have been discussing this issue with my
husband, Tony Seton, who is on the Advisory Board of IACP, is a former
producer for ABC news, Good Morning America and Barbara Wah-Wah. We were
talking about it yesterday and as I was bemoaning the fact that Dateline HAD
to have an actual case from Day 1, Tony reminded me again that these TV News
Magazines are based on exciting, gossipy revelations that intrude into
people's lives and that this is the only thing these reporters know these
days. Feeling exactly the way that you do Don, and I suspect the vast
majority of the others of you out there, the reason we have shifted to the
collaborative process is because we DON"T believe it is proper to take all of
the machinations of a family "re-organizinng" public. Now if we don't
believe it is proper to play this out in a court room, how can it be proper
to play it out on national television!
So, I thought maybe we--all of those interested, could talk about producing a
documentary, or at the very least a script for one, the right way. The
Collaborative Process needs to have coverage by the major networks, but it
just seems they are going about it the wrong way! Any ideas out there in
yahoo land?
