Marc,
Just a few thoughts. forgive me for not addressing your questions right now,
but I did want to add an angle that reflects our feeling that the different
professions have different traditions and training models that have worked
for generations, and we have decided to continue those distinctly
We have begun a mentoring requirement for new lawyers who join our group in
order to keep the quality of practice at its highest. The details for us,
also, are just being worked out.
However, for our new coaches or child specialists, our group has preferred
the supervision model that is typical of mental health rather than a mentoring
model.
As regards team work, however, which is an area for ongoing growth. Our
practice group has retreats and in-service trainings that systematically
address
ways to improve our team work and "mature" it. We sometimes bring in
outside specialists and sometimes do this ourselves. This not only helps our
teams
work better with each other, we also hope it will integrate new members into
the process.
