according to the website, it appears that they are no longer refunding the
visitor tax!

"As of April 1, 2007, the Visitor Tax Refund program has been cancelled.
Receipts dated ON or AFTER April 1, 2007 will not be accepted."

It was a good idea however! Great Conference...Looking forward to seeing
everyone in New Orleans!
