I am a mental health neutral. I belong to a Practice Group in Gainesville, FL.
who made the commitment to read THE FIVE DYSFUNCTIONS OF A TEAM
(Lencioni)…together. Then we held workshops on the dysfunction to understand
how to operationalize Trust, confronting conflict, holding to our commitments,
holding each other accountable and focusing on our results. Many of you
probably are familiar with this work and with its concepts. We found that to
truly function as collaborators we needed to hone our skills and understanding
of TEAM. We ask the couples to play team, and we could not truly role model it
until we undertook this work together. Gradually, it has begun to open up the
dialogue, promote more honesty and openness and give us a feeling of real pride
in our work together. Funny thing, our cases seem to come together more
smoothly.
THIS is what our practice group needed to learn in follow-up to the so-called
training that we all had. I love all that Carl-Michael is saying. He is so
courageous, and he wants us to get it that collaboration is a way of being
every minute of every day. Peacemaking is not done piece-meal.
Thank you all for what you do, and for this listserv. I am so excited to be a
part of this whole movememt.
