Marilyn:

I am not familiar with the book, but the concepts sound similar to what I practice in Science of Mind, now known as the Centers for Spiritual Living. I am a licensed clergy with that church and also just attended the Association for Conflict Resolution's 2nd Annual Conference on Mediation and Spirituality. I believe that these metaphysical concepts are comfortable for many consumers of Collaborative Practice. It is easier and easier to offer these concepts and see them play out perfectly in our cases. www.religiousscience.org is one website to check out to learn more.

This is not meant at all to promote a particular religion. I think that everyone (clients and practitioners, alike) finds their own way in these affairs. The distinction between world view, spirituality, and religion is a challenging one to make during these rapidly evolving and devolving times.

Good luck with this new offering to your clients.

I am going to start referring my clients to the book The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. It is easy to read, straightforward and espouses a lot of the principles of harmony and love we promote in Collaboration. Here are a few quotes I found particularly relevant:

"Competition is an example of separation. First, when you have thoughts of competition, it is coming from a lack of mentality, as you are saying there is a limited supply. You are saying there is not enough for everybody, so we have to compete and fight to get things. When you compete you can never win, even if you think you won. . . . You have to get competition out of your mind, and become a creative mind. Focus only on your dreams, your visions, and take all competition out of the equation."

Has anyone else read this and found it applicable to what we are doing?
