Re: Announcing events.
Rosemarie's and Gary's posts offer me an opportunity to mention something
about trainings and conferences. I consider it to be positive and
acceptable to post info about upcoming Collaborative Practice events on the
listServe here. And I also want to remind all of you who are doing all that
good work to arrange for trainings that IACP maintains a calendar that is
available for any professional to see. Go to

Unfortunately, when I just checked, none of these three events announced on
the listServe appear on the IACP calendar. So I'm thinking about all the
professionals who might be looking for such opportunities, but might not
find out about them. [is my co-dependency showing??? ;-) No, I'm just a
first-born caretaker ! :-) ]
This listServe, and I, have a very close relationship with IACP. I know
that IACP and I all want as many folks as possible to find out about
available trainings. And the practical reality of this listServe is that
between many and most of the folks on it have already taken trainings.
Personally, I always refer the interested to the IACP site to find available
trainings. So my intent is to encourage you all to make sure that whatever
else you do, you also post all your trainings on the IACP site.
Again, I'm not suggesting any problem with announcing them here; just noting
that for many on this listServe, such announcements might be met with a
semi-automatic delete stroke. And that doesn't serve the goal of getting
the word out. So I'm hoping you are willing/able to take that additional
step to serve that goal. :-)
