In addition to reminding you of the Cochise Linux User Group
meeting on Saturday (27 February) at the Sierra Vista public library
conference room at 2 pm, I wanted to make you aware of a few other Linux
related activities in the area.
The UA South Continuing Education Department in conjunction with
the IEEE Fort Huachuca Section is presenting two free lectures at the
Public Meeting Room, Groth Hall, UA South on Wednesday, 24 February.
The first is Congress' Approach to Cybersecurity (from 1130-1230) and
the second is Technology and Elections (from 5-6 pm). Please RSVP to
Dr. John DeLalla (jd@xxxxxxxxxxx) if you plan to attend. Pizza will be
served.
There is also a Ubuntu Hour at Schlozsky's Cafe on Thursday, 25
February (6-7 pm) hosted by Rex Bouwense. The purpose is to provide a
forum to educate the public about Ubuntu, a Free Linux Operating System
for you to use on your personal computer as an alternative to Microsoft
Windows, as well as the Free and Open Source Software that is available
to you. If you use Ubuntu and would like to meet others who do as well
or just want to learn about it, plan to join us for some lively
conversation.
