I'd say a fresh install fixes what we manage to break in a fraction of the
time lol

Linux is designed to be modular so worse case scenario you fubar'd grub. I
would suggest grabbing a liveCD / USB drive with the version you are using
installed. Reboot the system if it works, great. If it doesn't boot up
your live disk and use that to repair/reinstall grub.

Even if raid isn’t installed via hard drives some BIOS have the option
installed by default which is why that window may have appeared. Did you
have encryption or something installed via mint?

I did so & it ran through the 4 commands but remains at the end of the
last command with apparently nothing happening now
I am left with two terminal windows showing last lines run but not open
command lines
What now ... is it done or hung-up?
