Hellos members, I recently received a call from the wife of one of our Life
Member #6 Donald Franklin. Had a very long talk with her and became very
emotional when she state he was now in a Nursing home, memory not good, but
the folks love to hear and see his medals, trophies and plaques he received
from his league bowling in Ky. and ABBA where he served as Secretary
Treasurer and many other places. I am requesting the Public Relations Chair
to please run an article on our facebook and website with this information,
his wife is in need of any pictures anyone might have of Donald bowling
etc. The residents in the facility are amazed when he speaks of Blind
Bowling, asking questions as to "How " it happens. She has some pictures
but would appreciate many more to post on the board of blind bowlers
especially if you have any with Donald. We both realize most of the members
who bowled with Donald are no longer with us, but I also know some folk
keep pictures and if you have any please send them to me or email them to:
mcbf@xxxxxxxxxxxxx. Donald and his wife who is also totally blind, donated
a rail to a league that was starting in the Washington area some time ago.
She has one more rail but is not ready to part with it, hoping that the
family will decide to use it and bowl, otherwise she will be donating it to
ABBA to give to some league in need. Thanks everyone who is able to help
fulfill the wishes of Life Member #6 and his wife. For those of you who do
