We use interoffice Skype- it works great. We can all chat and when a student
arrives to see someone, our office assistant informs the staff of their appt.
we also use it to communicate when someone is leaving the office for lunch, etc…

We use the Clockwork chat sometimes for letting department staff know an
appointment has arrived.
We also have Google Chat as well and will sometimes use that for contacting
staff outside of our office.
We tend to call, e-mail each other or just stop by offices more than chatting
with each other using any method...

All,

I can’t tell when a student arrives through Clockwork. I use the old fashioned
phone system.

Well, we really use Microsoft Lync for instant messaging but you always get a
notification from CW when a student arrives. Then you need to go in and clear
it. Kind of a pain.

Hi Jamie,

We're not using it at Temple. We have Google email, which has a chat feature,
so we tend to use that instead. I'd be curious to hear whether others have
found a good use for the instant messaging in Clockwork.

Does anyone use the built in instant messaging system? It is pretty clunky and
not very useful except to let you know when an appointment has arrived. Other
than that it is cumbersome. What do others think?
