About this webinar...

Men often have difficulty coming to grips with a cancer diagnosis. It
challenges many ideas of masculinity. Two of the most problematic issues to
confront are those related to urinary and sexual function. We estimate that
almost 100,000 Australian prostate cancer survivors are currently living with
erectile dysfunction as a side effect of treatment. Men are often reluctant
to discuss these issues with their health care provider. Our own research
shows that between 12-15% of men having surgery for prostate cancer also
suffer from severe and persistent incontinence. Yet treatment is available.
Encouraging men to attend for appointments, raise the relevant issues and
have them addressed is a big step to take to improve quality of life in
cancer survivors.

We’ll be talking from personal experience, research and also from a social
perspective about all things male when it comes to life after cancer
treatment has finished.

About the Presenters...

The discussion will be facilitated by Jill Mills, Cancer Council NSW,
Practical Support Unit and the panel will include:
