I think you are 100% accurate in stating that the internet is Used as an often common pipeline for hatred. Due to it's non physically interactive state, people are not considerate to the feelings of others and otherwise careless with what they say and endorse. Unfortunate to say, i do not know how a resolution can be brought to this problem, and it's growth is terrifying. Most people thought that we were past the days of public discrimination but the small town of Jena has proved us wrong. Not only has a huge racial confrontation taken place there but has spread the hatred among the U.S. Discriminators have felt the need to display their feelings after this recent incident. I think that the internet is used to the advantage of those prejudice people, allowing them to communicate with others who feel the same and only add fuel to the fire. Here is an article describing the latest in hate crimes and prejudice in the U.S. http://blog.thehill.com/2007/10/12/we-are-still-fighting-the-old-demons-of-hatred-and-prejudice/ Lauren Brown CITW 150 Have a great day!
