I researched a scam that Involved poetry contests. People will send in poems to the supposed “contest” and get a letter back declaring them a winner or semifinalist. They then have to send in more money to buy an anthology that includes there work. Sometimes people will pay outrageous amounts to go to supposed awards ceremonies.
